Is job-hunting success more about who you know or what you know?

I believe that job hunting success comes from both of these aspects. First of all, you have to have the necessary education to even get an interview for a job. Second of all, you are more likely to get an interview if you have a foot in the door from knowing somebody. If you don't know anyone, it does not mean that you won't get a job. Make sure that you have an impressive resume and you'll be set.

Most of the jobs that I have had I haven't known anyone. They were a lot more difficult to get than the jobs where I knew somebody. A foot in the door is definitely a plus.
